Accessible Countryside Walk – Love your countryside

Join us for an enjoyable and inclusive guided walk through the historic deer park adjacent to the Showground, offering the opportunity to experience some of Staffordshire’s beautiful “On the Edge” countryside.

As part of both CPRE’s national Love Your Countryside campaign and our own Accessibility Walk Series, this event has been designed to be welcoming and accessible to people of all ages, abilities and levels of walking experience. The emphasis is on enjoying the countryside at a comfortable pace, appreciating the landscape, and ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to experience the wellbeing benefits of spending time outdoors.

The walk will provide an opportunity to learn about the local landscape, heritage and wildlife while meeting others who share an interest in enjoying and protecting the countryside. It is also a chance to demonstrate that access to nature should be available to everyone, regardless of mobility, confidence or walking experience.

The event aims to:

• Encourage people of all abilities to enjoy and access the countryside.
• Promote the physical and mental wellbeing benefits of spending time outdoors.
• Celebrate the beauty of Staffordshire’s rural landscapes.
• Raise awareness of the importance of accessible green spaces.
• Support CPRE’s national Love Your Countryside campaign.
• Bring communities together through shared enjoyment of the natural environment.
• Highlight why these treasured landscapes on our doorsteps.

Whether you are a regular walker, an occasional visitor to the countryside, or someone looking for a gentle and sociable outdoor activity, this walk offers a welcoming opportunity to explore and enjoy nature at your own pace.
