Together with our colleagues across England, we’re beginning the year with a Letter to
England — a message about what’s at stake for the countryside, and the future we want to
shape together. We’d love for you to add your name.

The countryside is at a crossroads. Climate change, nature loss and decisions that risk destroying landscapes and farmland are putting growing pressure on the land that sustains
us all. Something needs to change. The choices we make now will shape the countryside
we pass on to future generations.
For a century, CPRE has spoken up when the countryside needed a voice — from the
creation of Green Belts and National Parks to planting and restoring miles of hedgerows,
championing rooftop solar and protecting the places people cherish. Today, that same spirit is needed again.
