Stargazing at Beaudesert

Nothing beats looking upwards at the night sky to see velvety blackness, with twinkling constellations as far as the eye can see.

CPRE Staffordshire, the countryside charity, together with the Cannock Chase AONB Partnership, held its inaugural stargazing night in February 2023 to share the wonders of the night sky with children from Beavers, Scouts and Brownies.

Professional astronomers from Keele University’s Observatory brought their telescopes to allow children to enjoy great views of the night sky. They explained what we can see in the night sky, both with and without a telescope.

Following the success of last year’s event, the stargazing night will return on Wednesday 21st February 2024. It’s open to Girlguiding and Scouting units (Brownies and Cubs and upwards) who did not attend in 2023.
