Concerned About Development in Your Area?

Join us for a Planning Advice & Community Action Event

Local communities across Staffordshire are facing increasing pressure from large-scale development proposals that threaten the Green Belt, countryside, village identity, local infrastructure and the character of rural communities. Many residents and community groups want to engage with the planning process but often feel overwhelmed by its complexity or unsure where to find reliable advice and support.

This event has been created to bring together residents, parish councils, local campaign groups and anyone concerned about current or future planning proposals. It will provide an opportunity to learn from experts and experienced campaigners, build local networks, share knowledge and gain practical advice on engaging effectively with the planning system.

Attendees will hear from our volunteer planning adviser who will explain key aspects of the planning process and answer questions relating to planning applications, consultations, objections and appeals. In addition, representatives from the Lightwood Community Group (tbc), who successfully opposed a major development proposal will share their experience, lessons learned and practical guidance on organising an effective community response.

So if you are concerned about planning proposals affecting your local community, countryside or Green Belt and you want to understand the planning process, learn how communities can effectively respond to major developments, and connect with others facing similar challenges, this event may be for you.

This informative and practical event brings together residents, community groups and planning experts to share knowledge, experience and support.

What you’ll gain:

  • Advice from an experienced planning adviser.
  • The opportunity to ask questions about local planning issues.
  • Insights from a community group that successfully challenged a major planning application.
  • Practical tips on organising community responses and campaigns.
  • Valuable contacts and networking opportunities with local groups.
  • A better understanding of how to engage effectively in the planning process.

Whether you’re facing a current planning application or want to be prepared for future proposals, this event will help you understand your options and build connections with others who care about protecting our Green Belt and rural communities.

This event is open to everyone.
