To celebrate Staffordshire Day, we are hosting a series of accessible countryside walks designed especially for people with visual impairments.
These walks offer a quiet, inclusive way to experience nature, focusing on sound, texture, and atmosphere.
By removing barriers to access, we are promoting the countryside as a space for everyone, regardless of ability. This gentle celebration highlights the importance of inclusive green spaces and ensures more people can connect with and appreciate Staffordshire’s landscapes.
Celebrate Staffordshire Day with a countryside walk.
Following success of last year’s walk for the visually impaired, we are excited to be running it again this year. The route has been carefully chosen with accessibility in mind, and will be guided by CPRE Staffordshire volunteers. We will begin at the Ramblers Retreat, Dimmingsdale, before talking a leisurely route through the valley. The walk (approx 4-5 miles) will finish back at the Rambler Retreat in time for a light lunch.
Dimmingsdale is a lovely part of Staffordshire Moorlands, although it is somewhat remote. If you need support getting to the venue, please let us know in advance so we can make arrangements for accessible transport.
Date: Friday 1st May 2026
Location: Dimmingsdale ST10 4BU. Meet at the Ramblers retreat.
Start time: 10.30am
End time: 14.30
Free to attend.
