Stafford MP Jeremy Lefroy and CPRE Staffs 'Walk a Country Mile' on Cannock Chase.

Jeremy Lefroy, MP for Stafford, joined the Staffordshire branch of CPRE for an autumnal stroll in the beautiful surroundings of Cannock Chase on Sunday 19 November. Jeremy helped to plant a legacy tree, a bee-friendly yellow sorbus, outside the Marquis Drive visitor centre to mark the recent launch of the UK's Charter for Trees, Woods and People. He and his wife Janet then joined members of the public and staff and volunteers from the CPRE for a short walk. The 18 walkers (aged between 4 and 84) had the opportunity to learn more about the CPRE's work both locally and nationally and to chat with Jeremy. A raffle for the attendees was held in the cafe to finish off the event.

The registration fee paid by the walkers will help support the CPRE's valuable work in protecting the countryside and safeguarding it for future generations.
