AGM 2016

The Campaign to Protect Rural England Staffordshire Branch Annual General Meeting took place on Thursday 15th September 2016 at the Haling Dene Centre, a majestic grade II listed building built in 1847 and home to Penkridge Parish Council.

Attendees included our Committee, our volunteers, Councillors, guests and CPRE members, this year's AGM saw a good turnout of CPRE members for which we are very grateful. Our Chair Amyas Stafford-Northcote and Vice Chairs Anne Clendon and Mary Booth were all voted in again to serve on the Committee and Frank Walmsley re elected as a member of the  Committee.

Oliver Hilliam, from CPRE National Office, gave a speech on the past 80 year history of CPRE Staffordshire, Oliver is Co-author of 22 Ideas that Saved the English Countryside, if you would like to purchase a copy of the book please contact our office on 01785 277890. Emma Beaman Countryside Manager of Staffordshire County Council kindly gave a talk on the most sustainable way to manage the countryside estate and maximize its contribution to the economic and social well being of the residents of Staffordshire and beyond.

A delicious lunch of sandwiches and wonderful cakes was provided courtesy of Mary Cope of Beaudesert Park Farm, Rugeley.

We would like to extend our warm thanks to everyone who attended and contributed on the day in making our AGM a huge success.

Our current Committee: Mr Amyas Stafford Northcote (Chairman), Mrs Anne Clendon (Vice Chairman & Social Secretary), Mrs Mary Booth (Vice Chair & SPCA) and Mr Frank Walmsley will continue to serve, however, we do have openings for more committee members and would particularly welcome interest from both North and South Staffs.
