AGM 2015

AGM 2015

The 2015 AGM was held on Thursday the 17th of September at the CORE (Centre of Refurbishment Excellence) building, Longton, Stoke-on-Trent. CORE is an award winning highly commendable example of an energy efficient, self-sufficient retrofit project - an old pottery factory converted to a truly 'green' training and conference centre. We were fortunate to be able to start our meeting with an excellent talk about Loynton Moss nature reserve by Mike Deegan, formerly of Staffordshire Wildlife Trust and co-writer of Loynton Moss: A Natural & Social History of a Staffordshire Nature Reserve. Following the meeting we were taken on a fascinating guided tour of the building including a trek out onto the roof, where solar panels are installed, and a peek into the kilns which are now used as group discussion 'break-out' rooms. We rounded the afternoon off with a plentiful and delicious afternoon tea served at 4pm.

Our current Committee: Mr Amyas Stafford Northcote (Chairman), Mrs Anne Clendon (Vice Chairman & Social Secretary), Mrs Mary Booth (Vice Chair & SPCA) and Mr Frank Walmsley will continue to serve, however, we do have openings for more committee members and would particularly welcome interest from both North and South Staffs.
