Staffordshire Branch

Cannock Chase Cannock Chase

CPRE Staffordshire Branch, registered charity (no. 219443), has recently celebrated its 80th year (2016).

During its time it has been instrumental in preventing many damaging developments in the county.

The President is Ian Dudson, CBE, Lord Lieutenant of Staffordshire and the Chairman is Mr. Amyas Stafford Northcote.

Much of the work of the branch is the examination of and comment on proposed County and Local Plans to ensure that developments are in line with Government issued Planning Policy Guidance. Members often attend the public examination of such plans. All of this effort is in the furtherance of our mission to protect, preserve and enhance the Staffordshire countryside.

The Branch also supports Campaigns organised by CPRE National Office such as "Stop the Drop", an anti-litter project, whereby we aim to educate and inform both government and the Public and change attitudes.

Membership of the Branch is open to all. Members are kept up to date on Branch activities by Newsletters issued three times each year. Outings and social occasions are also arranged so that members may meet and get first hand news of activities. Anyone who values the Staffordshire countryside is invited to join the organisation, either as a supporter or as an active participant in the work. All are welcome and help is needed.

If you are willing to provide financial support, either by donation, leaving a legacy or by becoming a member, please go to "How you can help".
